SharpSpring Outgrows Space Again, Moving to Larger Quarters at Celebration Pointe

SharpSpring (NASDAQ:SHSP), one of the first companies to receive seed funding from the Florida Institute, has grown from two people to more than 180 associates in six years, and will be moving its headquarters from downtown Gainesville to  Celebration Pointe’s Tech Park in southwest Gainesville. The company, which offers a cloud-hosted software platform that helps businesses use marketing dollars more effectively, will move into a new five-story, 70,000-square-foot office building, marking the sixth time the company has moved in as many years. More information may be viewed here.

 


   
FreshSurety Corporation Releases Videns Sensing Platform for Food Safety and Freshness
 
FreshSurety Corporation, a venture funded technology company, has announced the release of their new sensing platform: a solution for monitoring fresh food biological processes and airborne molecules to better determine ripeness, condition, and screen for the presence of deadly pathogens.

Using highly sensitive battery-powered electronic devices that communicate over the internet, videns reports real-time location, safety, and quality of individual cartons at a cost of only a few cents per case. Sun BioPharma Provides Business Update


Patient Enrollment Commences for New Study; Data from Phase 1 Safety Trial Published
 
Sun BioPharma (OTCQB:SNBP), a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing disruptive therapeutics for the treatment of pancreatic diseases, announced plans for its newest trial, a combination of SBP-101 to be administered with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel in previously untreated patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA). The company also announced that its abstract of Phase 1 Dose Escalation Safety Trial was accepted by the American Society of Clinical Oncology‘s (ASCO) for online journal publication. More information may be viewed here.
 




Structural Composites Wins Innovation Company of the Year Award
 
Structural Composites, Inc. was awarded the Innovation Company of the Year Award for their next-generation CoCure hybrid metal/composite technology featured in Wabash National’s 53ft semi-trailers. By incorporating molded structural composites instead of aluminum, Wabash improved the trailer’s overall thermal performance by up to 25 percent. The trailer’s floor is also up to 20 percent lighter than it would be with steel, and the system is far more puncture- and damage-resistant than conventional constructions.
 
The Innovation Company of the Year Award was presented by the Space Coast EDC selection team and complements the company’s Unsurpassed Innovation Award received at CAMX, North America’s largest gathering of companies in the composites industry, in December 2017. More information may be viewed here.

The Institute provides company building services, and seed funding through the Florida Technology Seed Capital Fund, to promising Florida startups. Seventy-two companies have been funded to date, and the Institute’s economic impact through June 30, 2017 was $970 million, with an annual return on investment of 26 times to the State of Florida.
