Seed Capital Accelerator Program
The Institute is accepting applications for its Seed Capital Accelerator Program (SCAP) which provides funding in the form of repayable loans ranging from $50,000 - $300,000 to qualified Institute companies. In order to qualify for consideration for this program, companies must meet the following criteria:
• Technology developed at a university, college, research institution or other publicly supported research organization in the State of Florida;
• Company recommended by the technology transfer office of the host institution, and accepted by the Institute.
• Company located in Florida with a majority of the current and future employees based in Florida;
• Company will secure a 1:1 match against the loan by attracting private sector third party investors who will provide qualified equity financing (funds secured 120 days prior to the application date will be considered for the match).
To apply for the program:
Step 1: Contact the technology licensing office of the host institution where the technology was developed.
Step 2: Complete the Institute Application Form.
Step 3: Upload your company PowerPoint presentation and Executive Summary to a secure Institute folder by emailing them to funding@florida-institute.com.
You will be contacted by a member of the Institute staff regarding your application.
