OB Medical Receives FDA Clearance 

 
OBMedical Company  is a women’s health company headquartered in Newberry, Florida whose mission is to improve the health and safety of mothers and babies during pregnancy and labor. The company recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for the LaborView LV1000 wireless electrode system, an advanced maternal-fetal monitoring system for laboring women who are at greater than 36 weeks of completed gestation with a single baby. The LaborView system works non-invasively via surface electrodes on the maternal abdomen to measure fetal heart rate, contractions, and maternal heart rate.

 

flexReceipts Receives Follow-on Funding
 
The Institute has finalized a follow-on funding agreement with flexReceipts, an Orlando– based company  that has developed an easy-to-use, eco-friendly option for storing, tracking, organizing, retrieving and sending receipts when needed, enabling consumers to manage returns and exchanges, receive discount notices, submit warranty and rebate claims and register products more quickly and accurately. With technology developed at Florida Atlantic University, flexReceipts directly integrates with retailers' Point-of-Sale ("POS") systems and provides them with superior data analytics and consumer engagement tools.
 
The company announced recently that it has raised $2 million in venture capital and has established partnerships with Rooms To Go and several other independent retailers such as Paige USA, sportswear retailer TravisMathew, men’s clothier Milton’s, Rusty Del Mar Surf Shop and Robert’s China, indicating that flexReceipts’ approach to provide enhanced digital receipt solutions is scaling successfully and gaining traction quickly.

Startup Quest® Sessions Getting Underway

 
Startup Quest is a 10-week entrepreneurial training program that pairs unemployed and underemployed professionals with yet-to-be commercialized technology and experienced entrepreneurs to learn how to develop business plans, pitch to investors and build successful companies.
