GAINESVILLE and BOCA RATON, Fla.Nov. 17, 2015 -- The Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research (the Institute) announced today that it has finalized a funding agreement with Kairos a Miami-based company with technology licensed from the University of Central Florida. Kairos is a human analytics company that uses three-dimensional data to measure people's feelings and interactions. The Institute supports new company creation based on publicly-funded research, and bridges early funding gaps for companies spinning out of Florida-based universities and research institutions.

Understanding how people feel as they interact with content, products, and the real-world provides a layer of data clarity not previously available. Kairos' leading face analysis algorithms make it possible to capture Human Metrics, today.

"At Kairos, we believe that data as we know it today is just the beginning for business intelligence, and our mission is to radically change how companies understand people," said Brian Brackeen, Kairos Chief Executive Officer. "Kairos is the only player offering both emotional analysis and facial recognition technologies used to capture decisive moments in people's behavior to empower companies with meaningful metrics."

"Designed for innovative, data driven businesses, Kairos makes face recognition and behavior analysis easy for companies and developers," said Jamie Grooms, Institute Chief Executive Officer. "Kairos goes beyond traditional methods used for capturing the multidimensional and sophisticated characteristics of human beings, and the Institute is pleased to support their continued progress."
