The Institute for Commercialization of Florida Technology and the companies it funds generated more than $1.04 billion in economic impact for Florida in FY 2026, the highest annual figure in the study by The Washington Economics Group. From FY 2011 through FY 2026, the study estimates that the Institute's operations and funded companies generated nearly $8 billion in statewide economic impact.

The study estimates that this activity supported 5,557 jobs and generated $378 million in household income in FY 2026. It also found that Institute-funded companies raised $78 million in private funding that year. The Washington Economics Group used an economic model that captures the direct effects of Institute and portfolio company activity as well as the effects of business purchases and household spending across Florida.

The Florida Institute helps promising Florida technology companies bring new products to market through early-stage investment and company-building support.
